In love with writing since she could hold a pencil, Beverly Lauderdale has written/published hundreds of articles - embracing travel, history, profiles, essays, interviews, how-to's, book reviews - and short stories that deal with the vast array of human relationships. Her novels, The Long Wind and Notes When Summer Ends, explore women's friendships and the ever-fascinating male-female dynamic. Her forthcoming book, In Franklin's House (scheduled for release in early 2010), involves a handsome ghost and a middle-aged woman writer.

Born and raised in the Midwest, Beverly (Bev) credits its seasonal magic with her attraction to sense of place in all reading and writing. After graduating from Simpson College (Indianola, Iowa), she moved to California, where she taught junior high English, a college writing course, and "Craft of Writing" classes for Mount Diablo Adult Education. She received her master's degree in English Literature from Holy Names University.

With husband Bob she enjoys siblings, children, step-children, grandchildren, in-laws, ex-laws, and friends. She and Bob divide time between Martinez, California, which lies beside the Carquinez Strait, and Cedarville, California, a small town with Midwestern qualities in the Great Basin. Her favorite way to commute? Via their 1958 Cessna 175.
